The California Council of Churches and California Church IMPACT have worked to be a prophetic witness to the Gospel by advocating and educating faith communities to pursue justice, equity, and fairness in the treatment of all people, particularly those most vulnerable in our society, for over 110 years. Membership includes 50 judicatories in 21 mainline Protestant and Orthodox denominations. The Council is best known for educational resources and study guides providing a faith perspective on social justice issues of the day and IMPACT is known for its recommendations on statewide ballot initiatives and Legislative Issues Briefings, as well as being the lobbyist for our member denominations.

The Council and IMPACT were asked to vacate our offices, out of which we worked for 18 years, for needed renovations to the building, We are grateful to the Community of Christ Mission Center and the local congregation for making the space available. Thanks to the warmth and generosity of Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño and the staff of the California-Nevada Conference of the United Methodist Church, we have moved our offices to the United Methodist Conference Center in West Sacramento.

“The California Nevada Conference is a long-term member of the California Council of Churches and Church IMPACT.  It is a great opportunity for us to share space with these colleagues.  My prayer is that we will strengthen our mutual commitment to work for the healing of the broken body of Christ, as we serve together in a broken world.  Our Conference Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Relationships, chaired by Rev. Akiko Miyake-Stoner, will continue to lead us in our relationship with this important ministry partner,” shared Bishop Carcaño.
